The main function of the JICC library is to promote Japanese culture to the general public in the UK.

Monday - Friday (excluding Embassy holidays), 9:30 - 12:45 & 14:00 - 17:30.

Collections
The Library possesses approximately 3,800 volumes covering a wide range of general educational, historical and cultural topics relating to Japan, some in English and others in Japanese. Government publications, mainly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are also available. In addition, visitors can view the following publications:
Asahi shinbun, Yomiuri shinbun , Nihon Keizai shinbun. (daily), Asahi Shimbun Japanese-language newspaper (monthly volumes from 1986); The Japan Times English-language newspaper (monthly volumes from 1980); and
certain other Japan-related periodicals.
Other facilities
Visitors are welcome to use:
our DVD/video booth for viewing educational materials on Japan; and
our music stand for listening to traditional Japanese music, contemporary, pop and children's music.
Loan service
Up to 5 books may be borrowed for a maximum period of 2 weeks. For security purposes, we require proof of the borrower's identity and current address as well as an introductory letter from the academic institution, company or other organisation with which the borrower is associated.
Photocopies
We regret that the Library does not have any photocopying facilities.
