The Embassy of Japan and Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design proudly present Hand in Hand. An exhibition showcasing work by the latest generation of Japanese and Japan inspired graduates from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
Central Saint Martins has an unshakeable international reputation for the quality of its creative output and has influenced the art and design world for over 120 years. This autumn, for the very first time, the College is delighted to present a first XV at an exhibition housed inside the glorious 19th Century splendour of the Embassy of Japan, Piccadilly.
Innovation and new creative directions are the hallmark of the colleges graduates and this is illustrated here across the disciplines of Fine Art, Design and Fashion.
The Embassys invitation marks the first time that a cohort of Japanese and Japan inspired students have been gathered together in this way and offers a unique chance to see how young Japanese creatives and one of their British counterparts are collectively responding to arts practice in this new century. With careers emerging both here in Britain and Japan but also in Europe, America and Asia this articulate and inquisitive group forms part of a globally connected arts generation.
