Manga, comic strip books and magazines, are an extremely important part of Japanese life. In celebration of the rapid growth in popularity of Japanese-inspired manga in the UK, the Embassy of Japan is holding an exhibition, : Manga in the UK.
Manga Jiman can be roughly translated as ¡Æhaving pride in manga¡Ç and the Embassy of Japan is proud to present this exhibition of a selection of those publishers who are helping to make Japanese cartoon culture available for everyone in the UK.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the Embassy will host a seminar, investigating What is Manga? and a major manga-writing competition, : COMPETITION 2007 with fantastic prizes to be launched on 12 June 2007.
