Japan's Environment Minister Yuriko Koike and the British Minister for Environment and Agri-Environment Elliot Morley MP, held talks in Tokyo on November 4. They both acknowledged the urgent need for all countries to work together to highlight and resolve the issue of global warming. Mr Morley offered to provide specialists on global warming from the British Embassy as well as from NGOs and the private sector to participate in the Kyoto Protocol Symposium, which was held in Kyoto later that month. It was also decided that Japan and the UK would work together to produce an educational CD-ROM to teach young people about global warming. The CD-ROM will be distributed at the UK pavilion during the Aichi EXPO.

The characters 'Komame chan' and 'Britain chan'
will appear in the educational CD-ROM
