On behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester visited the Embassy of Japan on Monday, 21 March to sign a Book of Condolence for the victims of the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean earthquake. They were met by Ambassador and Madame Hayashi.
The Book of Condolence was set up for UK residents and visitors to offer their respects to the victims of the earthquake and the subsequent tsunami which struck on 11 March 2011. The Book of Condolence will remain open at the Embassy until Wednesday, 23 March 2011.
