Visa exemption arrangement for Serbian IC passport holders

From 1st May 2011, the visa exemption arrangement for Serbian IC passport holders will be introduced. Those who have a Serbian IC passport (Ordinary, Diplomatic and Official) and wish to enter Japan as a “Temporary Visitor” for a period not exceeding 90 consecutive days will not be required to obtain a visa prior to arrival in Japan from the above date. This arrangement will not be applicable to people who intend to enter Japan to seek employment or engage in remunerative activities including entertainment performances and professional sports activities. Also, Serbian nationals who have a Yugoslavian passport (Non-Machine Readable Passport) are required to obtain a visa. Please note that diplomatic or official passport holders who intend to enter Japan for the purpose of diplomatic or official mission must obtain the appropriate visa before going to Japan as before, and are not required to provide personal identification information such as fingerprints, provided the person concerned has a “Diplomatic” or “Official” visa.
