Football remains in the news this month with an historic occasion at Wembley Stadium covered in our Featured Article.  Meanwhile, we go overboard with festivals, introducing three in the UK as well as Japan’s famous Sendai Tanabata Festival. Our cultural attractions include an exhibition and a film show at the Embassy.

On a more solemn note, we report on the annual reconciliation service at Canterbury Cathedral.  Science is the focus of a workshop for young Japanese and Britons in Cambridge, and we publicise a lecture on climate change in London.

Last but not least, a charity event at the Embassy offers the chance to drink sake in a good cause, perhaps including a toast to Lorna Maud, who leaves us after her masterful stewardship of this Webmagazine.
