1. The Embassy of Japan is accepting donations for relief efforts in Kumamoto
All donations received by 31 March 2017 will be converted into Yen and forwarded to the accout of the Government of Japan for donations. Please use "Government of Japan" as your bank transfer reference and for payment by cheque, please write "Government of Japan" on the reverse side. The relief money will be delivered to the affected people through the local government.

You cannot use Gift Aid and other tax exemption for charities for your donation through our Embassy, even if you are a UK taxpayer, as the Embassy is not eligible. Bank commissions for conversion to Yen will be paid from the collected donations.
