In the October 2011 edition we feature an exclusive interview with the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP, who kindly agreed to speak with us during his visit to this year's Japan Matsuri. Events coming up at the Embassy include a charity exhibition by British artists, lecture on archaeology and culture, and our monthly film show.

Regarding events from last month, we have reports of the Great Grand Master of the Urasenke School of Tea's visit to the UK, an international sporting event with a difference, and the experience of UK students brewing sake in Japan. Dr Nicole Rousmaniere was honoured for her contribution to Japan-UK relations, and students from Tohoku visited the Embassy.

Angus Lockyer provides an article on 25 years of the JET Programme, we ask "What is the Quakebook Project?", and following a memorial service for Professor Bownas that took place last month, Mrs Cook-Bownas talks about the man she knew.
