The Embassy of Japan seeks a highly qualified person who can perform as an engineer for the diplomats of the Building and Property Management Section, and perform an integral role in facilitating the maintenance and upkeep of embassy facilities.

Job Details:
The Embassy of Japan seeks a highly qualified person who can perform as an engineer for the diplomats of the Building and Property Management Section, and perform an integral role in facilitating the maintenance and upkeep of embassy facilities.
Duties include:
- Proactively attempting to prevent, understand and resolve any problems that arise in our properties
- Proceeding electrical works, plumbing works, mechanical works, general DIY works and cleanings related maintenance
- Managing and supervising works carried out by maintenance companies and contractors at Embassy’s properties, reporting on and documenting all works undertaken
- General administrative duties including correspondence with maintenance companies and contractors, the organisation of quotations and management of contracts
- Foster a strong relationship with team members and understand the needs of those residing and working within embassy property
Requirements:
- Qualifications in electrical such as BS7671 18th edition is required
- Supervise skills for works carried out by either regular maintenance companies, or by specialist contractors
- English language as a mother tongue or equivalent, both spoken and written
- A good command of Japanese language and culture is an asset
- Good IT Skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint are essential
- UK driving license category B (light van is provided to visit Embassy’s properties)
