Japan Matters: The second anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake

To mark the second anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake’, Japan Desk Scotland and Japanese Matsuri for Glasgow co-host this Japan Matters to screen three videos: (1) 'The tsunami on Noda Village, Iwate' (13 mins), JMG has supported the village; (2) 'Our friends in Fukushima’ (40 mins), a record of interviews conducted by Japan Desk Scotland with staff and students at Fukushima University; and (3) 'My Ex in Fukushima, a new friend in Tokyo, and I' (35 mins), a drama created by two Fukushima University students, Yuki Naito and Shoko Nemoto. The latter two are in Japanese with English subtitles.
The event is free and open to the public.
It is organised by Japan Desk Scotland, in cooperation with Glasgow Museums and Japanese Matsuri for Glasgow, with financial support from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. |
