11 March 2014, Glasgow
|
This special Japan Matters event is co-organised by Japan Desk Scotland, with grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, and Japanese Matsuri for Glasgow, a recognised Scottish charity (SC034172), to mark the third anniversary of the Tohoku (North Japan) earthquake together. The event is free and open to the public.
There will be a screening of JDS's 'Our friends in Fukushima in 2013', a talk by Paul, a JMG member, of his volunteering in Noda Village affected by the tsunami, a singing of a hymn 'Tsunami' written by Rev David Sinclair, Wellington Church, and prayer led by David for those affected by the earthquake. A donation will be raised, which will be sent by JMG to Noda and Fudai Village Offices through Kunohe Village Office, Iwate, with which JMG has developed exchanges over the years.
