
Doki Doki The Manchester Japanese Festival 2015

Doki Doki is an event that will celebrate both traditional and modern Japanese culture. Throughout the day, there will be talks, demonstrations, parades and other events showcasing manga, anime, fashion, martial arts, film, music and other aspects of Japanese culture, past and present, as well as retail stalls, artist stands and a games area. Hot and cold Japanese food from a number of local retailers will also be available to festival-goers both inside the venue and restaurants nearby. There will also be numerous charity events running throughout the day for Aid for Japan.
The event will be taking place in Sugden Sports Centre, situated near the student quarter and BBC Manchester near Manchester Oxford Road Station. The festival comprises a daytime event, running from 10am to 7pm, followed by an evening cosplay party event, from 9pm to 4am.
There is no age limit for the daytime event, but anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian, the child will get in for free. The evening event is 18+ only. Evening tickets are not available in advance and must be purchased on the day of the event.
