The two day workshop will introduce you to ‘Ebru’ art with the traditional education model used in Istanbul. This is a practical introduction to Ebru/Marbling and provides participants a step-by-step guide to create their own unique Ebru artworks by using traditional tools. Additionally, students will be shown the similarity between Japanese marbling 'Suminagashi' and Turkish marbling 'Ebru' and will be learned what are the traditional techniques in 'Ebru' and 'Suminagashi'.

The workshop is open to anyone who has an interest in Marbling art and no previous knowledge is required but participants with prior experience of Ebru/ Marbling are also welcome to attend.

Miki Oshita was born in Osaka, Japan. She helped disabled people over 10 years. She always had an interest about Turkey since she was a little child. She came to Turkey to learn Ebru (Marbling) which is similar to Suminigashi (Japanese Traditional Art). She has been working on Ebru with her master Hikmet Barutçugil in Ebristan for 7 years. She also helps disabled children in Japan by using Ebru as a therapy. Recently, she holds Ebru Workshop in both, Turkey and Japan.
