Present your haiku in a style of calligraphy (Fudegraphy)

18 & 19 June 2011, London

Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June, 2011, Bertrand Russell Room, Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London. 9.00 to 17.00 both days.

Present your haiku in a style of calligraphy (Fudegraphy) inspired by Japanese models. Workshop organised by Japanese Breeze from Tokyo, led by Momoyo Nishimura. Come and go as it suits you, but best to commit to at least one morning or afternoon session. Ink, brush pens and washi paper will be supplied at a cost of £8.00 per participant. This is a public event in which the organisers are being assisted by the British Haiku Society.

In addition to practical experience in calligraphy techniques, there will be demonstrations by Shuho Fukushima of haiga painting and ori-cho (poetic notebook compilation). Mr Fukushima is currently Master Instructor of the Touto Haiga Association, Tokyo. There will also be a demonstration of takuhon (an art form that resembles brass rubbing, but using two different processes – wet and dry.) This will be given by Mr Kashu Yabuta, a leading expert in this field.
