Hanami

16, 17, 27, 28 March -May 2013, Kent

This year Brogdale will take part in this wonderful tradition and offer blossom walks and Hanami tours around the orchards through April and May. Visitors can saunter in the dappled orchards rows under an array of coloured blossom and on selected days ride on the tractor trailer for a birds eye view!

Being home to the National Fruit Collection, the largest living collection of fruit trees and plants in the world, Brogdale really does have a sight to see! The collection holds over 323 different fruiting cherry varieties and an additional 42 varieties of ornamental cherry trees!

The beauty of celebrating Hanami at Brogdale is the added benefit of other blossoming fruits including Apples, Pears, Apricots and Plums. The array of fruits grown ensures an extended duration of blossom as they all have different flowering times.

When you visit Brogdale for Hanami you will be treated to a guided tour around the orchards where you can find out all about the history of Hanami. Once the tour has finished you can enjoy a picnic under the cherry trees as well as a taste of some Japanese refreshments and light snacks.

Admission £11.50
