Japan Society Christmas Party
29 November 2010, London
This year's Christmas Party will be held, by courtesy of His Excellency The Ambassador, in the Ballroom of the Japanese Embassy. Please bring guests along to our traditional end of year celebration. Space may well be limited and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please note that the significantly lower price for members is once again thanks to generous sponsorship by The Japan Centre, which is providing the food.
During this year's party, we will be running a special 'wrapping area' for those of you looking for inspiration in presenting that perfect gift! Inspired by the recent visit by furoshiki expert, Hiroaki Koyama, we will have wrapping cloths available for you to practice with, as well as the more conventional paper wrapping. Why not get ready to wrap your Christmas presents Japanese style in 2010?
You will also have an opportunity to see the 'Collacqueration: Designed in the UK - Lacquered in Japan' Exhibition. The exhibition brings together young UK-based designers and the lacquer craftsmen of Wajima, in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The Exhibition runs from 15 October - 30 November 2010 at the Embassy of Japan.
Embassy security requires that guests bring photographic identification and confirmation when attending functions.
Members £17; non members £27 (Price includes wine and food)
Deadline for registration: Thursday, 25th November 2010
