Maeda Gakuen Japanese Summer Festival 2010

10 July 2010, London

This is the 18th annual Japanese style Summer Festival held by Maeda Gakuen, the Japanese nursery school, at our spacious grounds in Acton, London. Visitors will be able to enjoy delicious Japanese food and games and entertainment such as quoits, yoyo, balloons, etc. as well as performances such as an Anpanman show, bon-odori and a taiko drumming performance.

This festival has become an established event for the Japanese community in the capital thanks to the support of our sponsors and participants. Every year the festival has enjoyed excellent attendance (approximately 2,000 people attended last year, for example) and has been a great success. The festival is predominantly designed to be focused on children, but this year, held in conjunction with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association (JETAA), we expect large numbers of people who are interested in Japanese culture to come.

As usual, donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital and UNICEF will be made from the profits of the festival.

It would be great if you could come to the festival wearing a yukata!
