
Adapt & Evolve: East Asian Materials and Techniques in Western Conservation
8 - 10 April 2015, London
Over three days of events, we will look at the introduction, formalisation, and evolution of East Asian materials and techniques that have become part of paper conservation practice across the globe.
On 8 April we are offering a range of studio tours across London, granting access to the conservation studios of some of the world's leading collections, followed by a free evening drinks reception at The Foundling Museum in Brunswick Square.
On 9 and 10 April we will be hosting a two-day conference at SOAS in Russell Square, with talks and practical demonstrations from key speakers from the international conservation community, in-conference workshops also introduce Japanese products and methods, a trade fair showcasing the products and services of leading conservation suppliers, and an evening drinks reception on 9 April.
We also have a range of additional post-conference workshops on related themes, including Japanese conservation methods partly subsidised by our conference sponsors, the Clare Hampson Fund, running on 11 - 14 April.
