YOKO: ANDANTE CANTABILE exhibition of abstract oil paintings

2 - 28 March 2011, London

Yoko’s works reflect her involvement in both textile design and music. Her art is, as a result, a transposition of the composer’s many-coloured rhythms and harmonies onto canvas. The eye is both attracted and deflected and led on a musical journey suggesting all the chords and tones of a symphonic score. – almost musical experience: rhythms, partitions, harmonies, in the same way that a blind person is able to colour words in order to create a mental picture.

To celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Franz LISTZ this exhibition includes paintings inspired by his works.

She has exhibited in London (the japanese embassy), Paris, Geneva and Brussels.
