THE FIRST PRINCIPLE

18-23 July 2011, London

Asian artists get together for a new exhibition in London entitled The First Principle, promising to offer insight into the ideas and art of young East Asian artists currently based in Britain.

According to artist Yinjie Sun, who curates the show, the title of the exhibition is derived from the principle that artists should be true to their heart in their responses to the world they live in and the beauty therein. The works in the show, executive Curator Chichy Sladowsky says, offer "insight into our Far Eastern hearts in a Western style."
The artists in the exhibition have all received education in Britain.

The participating artists include Yinjie Sun (curator), Hou Zhichao, Yang Kai, Hau Yan Yvonne Luk, An Yung Yau, Iori Endo, Mari Tayama, Zhang Xingyue, Noriko Hyodo, Fu Xiao, Chao Lu-Chia, Leezhe Wang, Norihiro Usui and Wim Dhiradanai na Pombejra.
