FreshFaced+WildEyed 2014
1 - 20 July 2014, London
FreshFaced+WildEyed 2014 showcases the talent and diversity of photographic practice emerging from BA and MA courses across the UK. Work of twenty-two recent graduates have been selected from an open submission process.
In Elina Moriya’s video installation ‘The Ghost that Wasn’t’, Japanese and Finnish ghost films from around the 1950s are reinterpreted and rearranged to question the role of memories and cultural images that inform our perception and give meanings to images. The ghost story, narrated by a child, questions how values and beliefs are rooted within history and how they are passed on from one generation to the next.
Moriya’s Artist Talk about the work on Thursday 10 July, 3pm
