OHAKO, 30 Japanese Art Boxes, ICN gallery grand opening exhibition

8 September - 19 October 2011, London

For it's grand opening exhibition, ICN gallery is proud to present the exhibition "OHAKO". OHAKO(½½È¬ÈÖ)in Japanese means one's best technique and skill. Using traditional Japanese tea boxes from Shizuoka, Japan – which are also pronounced as OHAKO (ÃãÈ¢) – each participating artist will express inside an entrusted tea box their best skill, one's "ohako" enclosed in an "ohako".

Introducing those who are active internationally as well as spirited new faces, the show features works by 30 Japanese artists who are leading the creative culture scene in Japan today; manga art, photography, architecture, ceramics, fashion, character design, art and more. This special exhibition aims to give London visitors a rare opportunity to experience the unique harmony of the Japanese arts using a combination of tradition and contemporary expression.
