‘In A Room of One’s Own’ An Exhibition of Contemporary Japanese Woodcut Prints by Nana Shiomi

9 March - 18 April 2018, Cambridge

The first Shiomi’s solo exhibition in Cambridge showcases her récent 26 works including new ones and Tea Bowl series.

Clare Hall is proud to show the work of Nana Shiomi, whose prints can be found in major museum collections.  Shiomi lives and works in London, but the imagery she uses often incorporates Japanese iconography.

Her approach is rooted in the Japanese ukiyo-e tradition of woodblock printmaking by hand, to which she has added her experimental techniques. This exhibition draws inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s book of the same name.
