Craig grew up in Glasgow. Since qualifying as a lawyer and moving to London in 2007, he has developed his photography portfolio; focussing on social and documentary work. As an active member of the Shoreditch group of London Independent Photography (http:// www.londonphotography.org.uk/about.php), he has curated exhibitions and showcased his work in both Glasgow and London. His most recent exhibition, Gardel was exhibited in Broadway Market as part of Photomonth, the international photography festival in London’s East End. His work has also been published in the Guardian, online and in London Independent Photography’s thrice-yearly magazine, fLIP. Having visited Japan on a number of occasions, he has been able to capture a broad spectrum of this fascinating country.
Inspired by the beauty of the urban landscape in Japan, Craig has travelled widely in Japan; shooting series of work both in the bustling cosmopolitan city of Tokyo and serene idylls of Kyoto and Miyajima (amongst others). The series of work exhibited here include Tsukiji: the morning catch, a study of Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Fish Market (the largest of its kind in the world), and Dai: Tokyo from above, which depicts the sprawling cityscape of Tokyo Metropolis.
