Shojo Manga: The World of Japanese Girls’ Comics

18 March - 12 April 2016, London

Discover the world of shojo manga (girls' comics in Japanese) in the first major exhibition of the genre to tour the UK. Japan's shojo manga culture dates back to the post-war years but only evolved into its broad-ranging and hugely-popular form of today as a result of the innovative work of a small group of artists in the 1970s. This exhibition explores the work of pioneering artists Keiko Takemiya, Yukiko Kai, and Akiko Hatsu through elaborate Genga'(Dash) prints.
