SASHIKO REFLECTIONS
17 November - 22 December 2017, London
We are pleased to annouce the new exhibition, this time a collaboration of mirror and Japanese "SASHIKO"!
SASHIKO is a stitching technique which was developed to strengthen clothes primarily in the cold regions of Japan, but its function has diversified with time. These days you find various items with SASHIKO stitching which is used as embroidery.
Jakob Kaye, an artist based in Scotland, manages this heterogeneous collaboration using his fine hand-skill and focus required for the needlework.
The world of mirror, light and geometry spiced with Japanese traditional craft will enchant you at first sight!
