Join us for a rare public screening of ‘The Good Wife of Tokyo’.
The docu-film, by Kim Longinotto and Clare Hunt, examines the traditional perception and the contemporary reality of women’s roles in Japanese culture.
Kazuko Hohki, the singer in a London-based band, Frank Chickens, returns to Tokyo for the first time in 15 years, to perform with her band, and get married to her English partner.
Interviews with friends, family and other groups of women, offer unique insights into societal changes taking place across different generations.
These direct and poignant conversations are interspersed with live footage of Frank Chickens performances.
