Sheffield Doc/Fest

Sheffield Doc/Fest celebrates its 20th year with a new programme of documentary films from around the world, and this year’s retrospective is dedicated to Shohei Imamura, a director known mostly for his fiction films, but who also made several documentaries treading the line between documentary and fiction. The screenings as part of the retrospective include Karayuki-san, the Making of a Prostitute, In Search of the Unreturned Soldiers in Thailand, In Search of the Unreturned Soldiers in Malaysia and his seminal documentary A Man Vanishes.
