
The Green Chorus Lunchtime Recital at St Dunstan-in-the-West: Memorial Concert for the fourth anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake

The Green Chorus is a Japanese women’s choir formed nearly 40 years ago in Golders Green, London. Hence comes the name the Green Chorus.
Since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011, the Green Chorus has been taking part in numerous charity events and memorial concerts.
This year, on the very day, March 11th, the choir is presenting again, Hana-wa-saku (Flowers will bloom) to show their sincere support for those people who are trying to reconstruct their lives in Tohoku Region. The Green Chorus also sings several well-loved songs depicting the country’s scenes from season to season and some regional children’s songs arranged by a composer who are associated with the East Japan.
Programme also includes:
British melodies such as Home Sweet Home and Danny Boy.
There will be two pieces from Songs from The Princess by Gustuv Holst.
