Hope for Japan
On 6 April, the RCM community will be coming together to help raise funds for the victims of the recent Japanese tsunami.
A special concert entitled Kibou: Hope for Japan, will take place at 6pm on 6 April in the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall. The concert is being organised by pianist Kentaro Nagai, who will be joined by fellow Japanese RCM students, as well as other RCM musicians from around the world. Minister Okaniwa from Japanese Embassy will give an opening speech. The attractive programme includes works by Brahms, Strauss, Fauré and Poulenc.
The concert will be followed by a reception with wine, sake and Japanese snacks. Tickets cost £10, and all proceeds go to the victims of the tsunami.
