Twenty two year old Japanese violinist, Yuka Ishizuka holds Bachelor of Music from Royal Academy of Music with first class honours, and awarded with the ‘ the Lady Theodore Holland Prize’ and received the highest violin exam mark ever in the Academy and has been awarded the ‘Roth Violin Prize’, as a student of internationally renowned musician, Maurice Hasson. Yuka has also appeared as soloist with Junior Academy Chamber Orchestra and Academy Strings Orchestra at Royal Academy of Music, with whom she premiered the Mozart Concerto for Violin and Piano by Dr. Timothy Jones in 2010.
She has won numerous prizes including 1st Prize at International Young Musicians Competition in Italy, Beethoven Chamber Music Competition in London, Philharmonia Orchestra Martyn Musical Scholarship and has been selected as Concordia Foundation Artist. An active recitalist and chamber musician, Yuka has appeared at festivals in Austria, France, Switzerland, U.S.A, England and Japan and performed at Suntory Hall Tokyo, St. Martin-in-the-field, St. James’ Piccadilly, Steinway Hall London, King’s Place and the Drapers Hall. She is now in her first year of Master of Arts at Royal Academy of Music, studying with Prof. Tomotada Soh. Yuka plays on J. Gagliano, kindly loaned by the Academy.
