Japan Festival - Charity Concert and Workshop

01 Apr 2011, London

A charity event at the Greenwich Market for the Japan Tsunami Relief.

The event is going to be on Friday 1st of April. It is a whole-day event, with not only the usual Market food stalls working for this cause, but with workshops and bazaar built around the Japanese culture.

The concert at 7:30pm is the main attraction, with around 50 performers performing in the Market while we serve food through the food stalls. We have a 3 hour programme built, including a string orchestra performing Takemitsu "Requiem for Strings" and Glazunov "Concerto for Alto Saxophone," welcoming saxophonist and a native from Sendai, Kota Odashima, as the soloist.

All the profits and donations will go straight to the British Red Cross, and through the Japan Tsunami Appeal, it will be sent to Japan.
