Learn The Japanese Art of Gift Wrapping at Pantechnicon

Make gift-giving extra special by learning the ancient art of Japanese gift wrapping using furoshiki cloths. In Japan, gift-giving is an important cultural ritual, and the presentation is just as key as the gift itself. Plus, with no cutting, sticking or waste, your furoshiki is completely reusable.

In this sixty minute workshop you’ll learn the key techniques by wrapping a bottle and a book. The workshop will be led by Tomoko Kakita, a Japanese furoshiki expert. You’ll also receive a copy of Tomoko’s recently released book Furoshiki and the Japanese art of gift wrapping as part of the session. If you’d like to take a furoshiki or two home with you, they’ll be available to purchase on the day, including a range designed by Tomoko herself.

Can’t make it to a workshop? Pantechnicon offers a furoshiki wrapping service for any gifts purchased in their shops Edit, Studio and Sakaya and Tomoko’s book on furoshiki wrapping is also available to purchase in Studio.

Tickets cost £35 per person, including a copy of the book Furoshiki and the Japanese art of gift wrapping.
