What's New

We at the JICC (Japan Information and Cultural Centre) have put together two different sets of Japanese artefacts that are available for loan from the JICC.

It may be possible to borrow further items that are not included in the artefact sets upon request (contact us). Please note that we can only lend to organisations and that in some cases, artefacts must be collected in person from the Embassy.

To borrow an artefact set, please send a request letter on headed paper to the JICC. (It is also possible to borrow both sets for large events)

Loan Guidelines

1.

Artefacts are loaned free of charge.

Young women dressed in yukata (cotton kimono)
2.

Artefacts are normally loaned for a maximum period of two weeks.

3.

Since we are only able to loan articles to organisations, we will require a request letter on headed paper. Please send request letters to the JICC. A request can only be processed once the request letter has been received by the Embassy.

4.

The person making the loan is responsible for returning the items to the Embassy. (post/courier/in person)
Opening hours: Monday - Friday, 9.30-13.00 and 14.30-17.00.

5.

So that we may continue our loan system, please return all artefacts on time and ensure that all items are repackaged in the way you received them. If an item is dirty or defective, please indicate this when the loan is returned.

Please note: Flags should not be washed, as this should be done professionally.

6.
If, for some reason, an item cannot be returned in the condition it was lent, the borrower will be required to pay for a replacement to be purchased and delivered to the Embassy.
