Three ships belonging to the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force Training Squadron are visiting Portsmouth Naval Base as part of a five-month global deployment. Five years after the previous such visit, the squadron arrived in Portsmouth on July 22.
The public can make the most of the visit by climbing on board JDS Isoyuki, which is opening her gangway free of charge to visitors on July 24 between 10am and 4pm. Moreover, the squadron’s 40-strong military band will be performing the same day next to HMS Victory between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
