'THE LIGHT' is an exhibition featuring portraits of the survivors of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Faculty and graduate students of Hiroshima City University participated in painting the survivors' portraits since 2004. This project aims to preserve the memory of the tragedy and lives of the survivors for future generations. In this 65th anniversary year of the Atomic Bombing, 'THE LIGHT', co-organized by Kingston University and Hiroshima City University, is currently showing at Brunei Gallery, SOAS, University of London until 8 October. This exhibition contains 65 portraits of the survivors from the first and the third generations, and has their life stories displayed next to each other. A lecture series will be held on 7 October at the lecture theatre, Brunei Gallery. The speakers are professors from Kingston University, Hiroshima Peace Institute and Hiroshima City University. The doors will open at 9:30. No reservation is required. Admission is Free.
