THE LONDON CHAKAI

Discover the art of tea drinking, Japanese style

14 June 2014, London

YOU ARE INVITED TO A TRADITIONAL JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY

Whether it is English Breakast, Ceylon, or Lapsang Souchong we all love a good cuppa.

But did you realise, there is more to drinking tea if you are Japanese?

In The Land of The Rising Sun, tea drinking has been elevated to a social event, involving the preparation of tea, and the serving of sweets, all in a refined setting.

Now we are inviting you to experience a traditional Japanese tea gathering (or 'Chakai') for yourself.

Gatherings will be held on Saturday, 14 June 2014 at the Royal Over-Seas League in Central London in an authentic tea setting where you will be asked to observe 'the way of the tea' with other tea lovers.

Four sessions will be held throughout the day,
starting at 10am, 11.30am, 3.30pm and 5pm,
each lasting approximately 75 minutes.

Admission is £20 per person including matcha (ground green tea) and Japanese sweets.
