Bento Workshop
17 Jan 2010, London
A bento favourite! - learn how to make the bento.
Bento boxes are served everywhere in Japan - work places, schools,
department stores, and even on the trains. These tasty Japanese lunch
boxes have been enjoyed for over 800 years!
A hands-on practical workshop, making your own bento filled with
onigiri ( rice ball ). Choose your favourite fillings, such as umeboshi,
tuna-mayo, okaka, yakisake, mikumiso or furikake, then wrapped in
crisp nori. Also you will learn a point of making some of Japanese
dishes suitable for your bento. We start with introducing a typical
style of bento, then a cooking session, and filling your bento box then
finally eating!
