EAST ASIAN FRIENDSHIP CHARITY EVENT
13 April 2010, London
The Event will provide the opportunity for members of two of the leading national cultural organisations
for Japan and Korea and the countries' bilateral law associations in the UK to meet together with their
supporters and friends at a music event hosted by the Islington Chinese Association in London, and to
enjoy conviviality over a traditional Chinese meal and attend a music and dance performance
showcasing both modern and traditional performers from Japan, Korea and China
It is thought that this is the first time this Millennium that such an event has been staged in London at a
relatively low cost for the three Asian nations (with their different political histories) and their local
communicates in Greater London using the performing arts as a means of promoting friendship between
them
A further purpose of the Event is to raise funds for the Lord Mayor of London's charity appeal to
enhance the London Symphony Orchestra's outreach programme for children in the London boroughs
The Event begins with a traditional Chinese meal prepared and served by members of the
Islington Chinese Association.
From 8.00 pm onwards there will be musical and dance performances on stage provided by
Chinese, Japanese and Korean performers.
£15 - including meal
