A piano recital by the Japanese virtuoso, performing music by Scriabin (Sonata No.4, Op.30), Somei Satoh (Mirrors in Dreams), Debussy (Fêtes, from Nocturne) and Chopin (12 Études, Op.25).
Maki’s phenomenal talent is becoming more and more recognised and her Wigmore Hall concert is testimony to her rising stature. A graduate of the Moscow Conservatoire and now established at Green Templeton College in Oxford as Musician in Residence, experience of her playing has been compared to hearing the likes of Richter and Rubinstein for the first time and BBC Music Magazine has highlighted her concerts as "unmissable". Her mastery of the great Russian repertoire, the late Romantic works and much contemporary music is extraordinary and many are genuinely amazed at her sensitivity and virtuosity.
This will be her solo debut at this famous London venue.
Admission: £16, concessions £14 (includes coffee, sherry or juice)
