For the 8th year running, this is an all-day and open-to-anybody event to experience Japan and its culture at UCLan in Preston. This time, UCLan is honoured to host taiko drumming performances and workshops, as well as language workshops by the Chief Language Adviser of the Japan Foundation. Additionally there will be cosplay, stalls, performances such as Okinawan karate, travel & study guides for Japan, 'eco-furoshiki' wrapping hands-on sessions, and academic displays by students of Japanese. You can also enjoy authentic bento, sushi and desserts.
This event is scheduled to start at 9:30 and finishes around 16:30. Tickets are free of charge, but please book a place here. You will be asked to answer a very short survey after the event so that we can improve future events. We have security card entry system across the University so if you are members of the public, please signal to people inside to open them for you.
We appreciate your cooperation very much by bringing your mask to run a safe event for all. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
