Eto Mori's award winning Colorful. A Novel has sold one million copies and been translated into several languages. It tells the story of a soul given a second chance at life when it is passed on to the body of Makoto Kobayashi, a fourteen-year-old who had just committed suicide. Eto Mori (1968- ) is a Japanese author who specializes in children’s and young adult literature. Her debut novel Rizumu (Rhythm) was released in 1990 and won the Kodansha Award of Children’s Literature for Newcomers. Other awards won include the Noma Literary Prize and the Naoki Prize. Colorful. A novel is her first work being translated into English.
