Come and craft your own ‘chawan’ tea bowl in this workshop with ceramicist Akiko Matsuda. During the session you’ll learn how to create your own ceramic wares and walk away with the satisfaction that you’ve created something you can use every day. Once you’ve made the bowl, choose a colour and Akiko will expertly fire and glaze it for you.
The workshop will also include a matcha preparation demonstration and tasting from Matchado founder Hiromi Matsunobu, so that you’ll be primed to use your new tea bowl once it’s ready.
Tickets include all materials to make your tea bowl and for it to be glazed and fired by Akiko at Studio Pottery London, our neighbours in Belgravia. Also included is the sampling of two matcha tea drinks, as well as some Matchado treats. Your fired bowl will be ready for collection from Pantechnicon about 6-8 weeks after the workshop.
