KOKEDAMA PLANT MASTERCLASS

Craft your own Japanese kokedama moss ball plant with an expert maker in the Roku Summer Terrace pop up at Pantechnicon.

Kokedama combines elements of ‘bonsai’ miniature planting and ‘nearai’ no-pot planting to create a striking piece of art: the process takes the roots of a plant, wraps them in a layer of natural moss before binding them with thread, so that no physical pot is needed. The resulting ornamental plant can be then placed on any surface, or even hung.

You’ll learn to craft step-by-step a kokedama palm moss ball from the experts which will be ready to take home with you at the end of the session – with instructions on how to care for it. You’ll also have a choice of drink to enjoy in the sun –try a Japanese kakigōri shaved-ice cocktail or a Kimino sparkling Japanese juice in ume, yuzu or ringo flavour. Timed to coincide with the school summer holidays, this experience is suitable for children accompanied by an adult. Children can choose from non-alcoholic, fruit flavours for their kakigori shaved ice treat.

This masterclass coincides with the Roku Gin Terrace at Pantechnicon –  open from 30 June – 11 September 2022 serving kakigori shave ice cocktails and takoyaki every day.

Event Cost : £50 – includes a drink of your choice, including cocktails, and a kokedama plant
