Celebrating the 25th year of Asian Art in London, visit Japan House London to enjoy a special display of treasured objects handpicked by nine respected dealers, galleries and collectors specializing in the art, craft and design of Japan.
Each exhibitor introduces some of the finest items from their collections, showcasing the rich diversity of Japanese craftsmanship and artistic excellence.
Items chosen include fine examples of ceramics, urushi lacquerware, cloisonné enamel, woodblock prints, menpō samurai facial armour and metalwork, from the Edo period (CE 1603–1868) to the present day.
Within the peaceful surroundings of Japan House, guests can admire the exquisite detail and immense craftsmanship of a selection of netsuke, sagemono and ojime while encountering prints by celebrated contemporary artists such as Shinoda Tōkō alongside ceramics and metalworks from across Japan by recognised masters including ‘Living National Treasure’ Ōzawa Kōmin and Imaizumi Imaemon XIII.
All objects included in the display are available for purchase.
The display is complemented by an evening talk exploring cultures of collecting, collections and collectors in the world of Japanese art and design on the evening of Wednesday 2 November 2022. Booking for the talk will become available shortly.
