Scottish Taiko Festival

The Scottish Taiko Festival is a celebration of taiko drumming and Japanese culture, with a busy schedule of events on offer for the whole family to enjoy!

The Festival will take place 28-30 April 2023, with a programme of Taiko and various other Japanese cultural events in the villages of Aberfoyle, Gartmore, Port of Menteith and Killearn - just west of Glasgow. The cultural events on offer range from taiko, shinobue and shakuhachi workshops, to shinrin-yoku, iaido demonstrations, bunkraku puppet making and demonstrations, music concerts, origami and much more!

We feel very honoured and privileged to have Kenny Endo from the Taiko Centre of the Pacific, Hawaii, as our special guest for the first edition of the Festival. Kenny, also known as Mochizuki Tajiro in the Hogaku world, is a renowned artist with 48 years of career as a taiko professional, having received a natori in hogaku hayashi. He will be leading a series of workshops throughout the weekend and playing a concert on Saturday evening.

Ticket: £16 for an adult day ticket ; £30 for a weekend ticket – prices vary. Discounted children, concession and family tickets available.
