2023 TATTON PARK Matsuri

This year Tatton Park will once again host a Japanese Summer Matsuri Festival in association with the Japan Society Northwest, JETAANW, the Japanese Embassy and UCLAN

This year’s Matsuri will showcase some of the best authentic Japanese cultural experiences in the Northwest.

Come along to see the tea ceremony, listen to Japanese music, watch performances such as Taiko drumming,  Iaido, Koto playing and enka singing. Take part in traditional art & craft activities such as calligraphy, origami, and kamishibai. Write your wishes on a tanzaku and tie it to bamboo branches.

Some of the leading specialists in Japanese culture in the UK will also be present to answer your questions about the country and its people.

All taking place amongst the cherry trees and against the backdrop of Tatton Park’s very own, fabulous Anglo-Japanese Garden, one of the oldest and most authentic in the U.K.
