Freddie Mercury once resident of Feltham has a memorial on Feltham High St, the only one in UK. Through Friends of Feltham Green in partnership with Hounslow council a memorial garden will be created this year. This garden will be a place not only for Feltham community to enjoy but fans world wide to visit and lay tributes.
Many overseas visitors come on the annual tours which the community group organises for free. Not only it includes the memorial, World Zoroastrian Organisation, Freddie Mercury Close, Brian May house, Freddie Mercury House (Blue Heritage Plaque) we have incorporated the history of Feltham’s 3 remaining ponds.
Through Freddie’s love of Japanese designed gardens, a group of Japanese fans organised a campaign in Japan to raise money to sponsor a Sakura Cherry Tree and plaque to be planted within the newly created Freddie Mercury Memorial Garden. So the love through Freddie Mercury will form an ever lasting friendship with Japan and UK.
So we wish to invite the Japanese Ambassador and Japanese UK residents and 'Queen' fans to the tree planting ceremony when the Freddie Mercury Japanese fans who organised the Sakura tree campaign visit on 5th September which is on Freddie’s birthday.
