Using wagara (Japanese pattern) stencils, participants will have the chance to decorate a handkerchief by drawing their chosen design in a range of graphic markers from Copic.
Wagara are repeating designs, often inspired by nature and in use for centuries, that appear in particular on Japanese clothing and homewares. Each pattern carries symbolic associations, which then play a role in how and when the pattern is used, frequently being matched to seasons or specific occasions.
